Pensioner Discount Terms
Terms and Conditions
1. The discount is being given by Game (Masstores (Pty) Ltd, trading as Game (“Game”), registration number 1991/006805/07) subject to the terms and conditions set out herein.
2. Any persons taking part in this promotion (“Participant” and/or “you”)) accepts and agrees that they have had an opportunity to read and consider these Terms and Conditions and that they are bound by these Terms and Conditions.
3. You acknowledge that by redeeming the 10% (ten percent) Pensioner Discount (the “Discount”) you:
3.1. have been given an opportunity to read these Terms and Conditions and that you understand and agree to the Terms and Conditions; and
3.2. understand that this Discount is given to you at the discretion of Game and subject to these Terms and Conditions.
4. The purpose of granting this Discount to qualifying Participants is to give South Africans who are 60 and over a discount.
Duration
5. The Discount is valid each day (Monday to Sunday) unless withdrawn by Game. The Discount shall only be redeemed in any Game store within the Republic of South Africa and shall not be applicable to any online purchases.
6. Game reserves the right (and its sole and absolute discretion) to extend, shorten and/or suspend the time period of the Discount and/or terminate the granting of the Discount for technical, commercial, and/or operational reasons, or for any other reasons beyond its control. The Discount and Terms and Conditions may be reasonably amended by Game, at any time. In such event, all Participants waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of these terms and conditions, and acknowledge that they shall have no recourse against Game whatsoever
Qualifying Criteria for The Discount:
7. In order to redeem the Discount, you must comply with the following requirements:
7.1. You must present your Senior Citizens Card and a valid Identity Document or passport to the cashier in the Game store on the days in which the Discount may be claimed. This card can be applied for in any Game store in South Africa. Should you not have your Senior Citizens Card and/or Identity Document and/or Passport with you at the Store, then you shall not be entitled to the Discount.
7.2. You are not able to redeem a Price Beat and this Discount on the same purchase.
7.3. The Discount may not be utilised in combination with any other discounts which game may offer from time to time. For example, Pensioners are only able to redeem a 10% (ten percent) Vaccination Discount OR this discount (Pensioners are not able to claim a 20% (twenty percent) discount in total).
7.4. The Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any Price Bear offering.
7.5. The Discount is valid on purchases up to a total amount of R3 000.00 (three thousand rand).
7.6. You cannot redeem the Discount on financial services products and/or on cellular contracts and/or items that are marked down and/or tobacco products and/or any other goods which may be determined by Game from time to time.
7.7. You cannot redeem the Discount on purchases made on layby.
7.8. The Discount is not valid on online purchases or purchases made on UberEats or OneCart and is only available to be utilised in Store on the specified dates.
7.9. The Discount is only valid once proof of a Senior Citizens Card is shown and no other proof of age or pensioner status will be accepted.
7.10. The Discount may not be exchanged for cash.
7.11. The Discount may not be utilized on certain promotional days (such as Halfway Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday) and as determined by Game from time to time.
Who Is Eligible to Participate?
8. The Discount is only applicable to natural person who is 60 (sixty) years old and over within the Republic of South Africa and subject to the terms and conditions set out herein.
9. The following persons shall not be eligible to claim the Discount on the participating dates:
9.1. No director, employee, agent or consultant of Game;
9.1. any other subsidiary or associated person who controls or is controlled by Game;
9.2. the marketer of the promotion and/ or Agencies of Game or their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members, may utilise this Discount;
9.3. any juristic persons, including companies, close corporations, trusts, co-operatives and/or joint ventures.
10. The Discount may only be utilised by the individual who qualifies for the Discount. Should Game, in its sole discretion, determine that the Discount may be/was applied to a third party and/or juristic person, then Game may, in its sole discretion, refuse to grant you the Discount and/or claim the cost of the discount from you.
11. Game reserves the right to refuse to grant any person the Discount in the event that Game, in its sole discretion, determine that the participant has not complied with all terms and conditions.
Gesture of Good Will
12. Should you qualify for a Discount then you agree that Game is providing you with the Discount at Game’s sole and entire discretion and as a gesture of goodwill. Game shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage that you may suffer in the event that Game is unable to and/or fails to process any Discount.
The Discount
13. By complying with these terms and conditions, participants are able to get a 10% (ten percent) discount on the total value of their purchase in a Game store (excluding online) within the Republic of South Africa and on purchases subject to a maximum amount of R3 000.00 (three thousand rand).
Regulations
14. The discount is not transferrable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other items.
15. The value of the discount, jointly and severally, includes VAT.
16. If you fail to comply with any of these rules or the terms of acceptance of the discount, the participant will be disqualified and will forfeit the Discount.
17. Game reserves the right to disqualify any person suspected of fraud and/or cheating including without limitations, through the manipulation and/or falsifying of data.
Indemnity
18. By participating in the promotion, you unconditionally and irrevocably indemnify and hold harmless Game, as well as its holding company, its subsidiaries and any subsidiaries of its holding company, and their successors and assigns, directors, employees, agents or consultants against all and any losses, claims, proceeding, actions, damages, (direct, consequential or otherwise) liability, demands, expenses, legal costs (on an attorney and own client basis) howsoever arising out of, based upon, or in connection with (directly or indirectly) the Participant’s participation in this promotion.
19. Game, its agents and/ or its service providers, are not responsible for:
19.1. technical malfunction;
19.2. Systems errors which does not allow Game to process the Discounts;
19.3. lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network or computer equipment or software; and/or
20. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platform that may be used as an intermediary.
Personal Information
21. You consent to the collection and processing of your personal information (including personal information contained in electronic communications) by Game for the purposes of granting the Discount to you. It is recorded that Game, will require you to present your personal information in order to receive the Discount.
22. Game shall process any and all Personal Information collected for the purposes of granting the Discount in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act. All Participants can refer to the Privacy Notice available at https://www.massmart.co.za/privacy-centre.
23. Should any dispute arise in relation to these Terms and Conditions, Game’s decision shall be final and binding and no additional correspondence shall be entered into by Game.
