Lelit Giulietta X PLSVX Commercial Espresso Machine

Though Lelit is best known for its domestic products, the Italian manufacturer has also ventured into the commercial espresso space. Its Giulietta X is a compact, affordable two-group commercial machine with all of the features and specs necessary for brewing high-quality espresso quickly, conveniently and at scale.

Starting with the all-important interior, the Lelit Giulietta X sports a hefty 10-litre boiler, which provides plenty of capacity for serving lots of beverages back-to-back, be they straight espressos or tall milk-based drinks. A built-in PID system allows you to set and adjust your boiler temperature, providing it with greater stability and the option to adjust your brewing temperature. This means that you can really optimise your extraction for a particular coffee, if you’d like. 

The boiler also features an automated eco mode that drops the temperature to a user-defined setting after 15 minutes of inactivity, and drops it even further after a few hours. Not only does this cut down on energy consumption, but it extends the lifespan of your heating element too.

The boiler feeds into a hot water tap, two multidirectional steam wands, all controlled by Lelit’s signature knobs, as well as a pair of E61 groupheads. Unlike Lelit’s lever-activated home machines, the Giulietta X’s groupheads are controlled by a set of five buttons each. Four of these are programmable automatic settings, and one is a continuous option. 

The automatic options are volumetric, meaning they automatically shut-off after a set amount of water has been passed through the grouphead. This allows the barista to step away and steam milk or prep another coffee, for example, without fear of messing up a shot. These doses, along with automated pre-infusion, are set via a large and intuitive LCD interface. Furthermore, each set of buttons can be independently programmed, so your double dose on one grouphead can differ from the other. This allows you to set different recipes if you want to offer multiple coffee options, like a decaf or a single origin, for example. 

As far as build goes, the Giulietta X sports Lelit’s usual stylishly minimalist aesthetic and a brushed steel finish. It features a cup warmer on the top, and offers a substantial amount of space between the drip tray and groupheads. This allows you to brew into taller cups, but the Giulietta X also comes with a pair of cup risers if you’d prefer to close the gap somewhat. Finally, thanks to its compact dimensions, the Giulietta X is a great option for any coffee setup where space is limited, such as a small café or confined office setting. 

All in all, with solid specifications, a host of attractive features, a space-conscious and classy design, all at a reasonable price, the Giulietta X takes everything that makes Lelit’s home espresso machines great and brings it elegantly into the commercial space.
