The Pesado Portafilter Dosing Cup allows you to dose into a cup instead of directly into the portafilter. The cup then fits neatly into the portafilter (ideally turned upside down) and enables you to transfer the coffee quickly, easily and without a mess. This is particularly useful if you have a grinder without a portafilter holder or one that tends to create static or spray coffee outside the portafilter. Not only does this tool help to reduce waste, but it creates a much more evenly distributed coffee bed prior to tamping, resulting in better extractions and better-tasting espresso.
If you want to be very precise about your espresso coffee doses (as you should) the dosing cup also makes weighing the dose coming out of the grinder much easier than trying to balance a portafilter on top of a scale.
