Fortunately, Presso’s dosing funnel is a simple but effective tool for resolving this issue.
Presso’s dosing funnel (or collar, if you prefer) is compatible with any 58mm portafilter, and attaches snugly and reliably thanks to a magnetic edge. By raising a “lip” above your portafilter, the funnel lowers the chances of your coffee spraying out of the portafilter. It also provides a kind of chute for grinds to slide down, ensuring that they land more neatly into your portafilter and that they are more evenly distributed. This tool also pairs well with Presso’s WDT if you really want to perfect your puck prep.
